Ophthalmologist

An Ophthalmologist is the branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eyeball. Also it is a specialist in medical and surgical eye problems. Since Ophthalmologists perform operations on eyes, they are both surgical and medical specialists. A multitude of diseases and conditions that can be diagnosed from the eye. Needed Ophthalmologist Degrees and Education Requirements. There are medical doctors who treat diseases of the eyes. They can be thought of generically as ‘eye doctors’ and perform some of the same duties as optometrists, They differ in that ophthalmologists perform eye surgery and treat eye diseases.

To become one the specialty requires four years of postgraduate specialty training after the completion of a medical degree. While the demands on it may be driven by the increasing graying of America society.

Salary: $300,000 at $256,000


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be one? Why? Why not?
I think I would not like to be one, because they do surgery on the eye, and if I do something wrong it would be very difficult if that happens. I believe that this job is to people who can do delicate things without doing something wrong.
